The Interior Define VP of Finance will be critical to the management of our rapid growth. She/He will manage the accounting details; improving current and building new processes. The VP will be at the heart of financial and operational data and will be expected to provide essential tactical and strategic guidance to the Co-Founders and Board of Directors. Actively involved in capital raising.
The right hire could grow into a CFO role; making this an exceptional opportunity for the right rising finance talent.
Job Responsibilities & Expectations
· manage the day-to-day finances
o coordinating with external accounting firm
o organizing cash flows
o interfacing with our merchant processor
o forecasting future sales, marketing, COGS & SG&A costs
· support fundraising efforts
o creating analytics and presentation materials
o sourcing leads on future investors
· managing operational analytics
o updating sales and operational dashboard to provide continuous insights on the business
o analyzing, managing and executing online marketing efforts (e.g. Adwords campaigns)
o costing out new business decisions (e.g. new product prototypes or sourcing processes)
o pricing new products based on market research, internal costs and marketing strategy
· this role at its core is a finance role but the leadership opportunities branch into operations, marketing and sourcing
· Like everyone here, talk with customers and be a brand advocate.
· Work weekends. It’s retail, we have a showroom, and we’re a startup.
Candidate Profile
· Be someone who wants to make a name for themselves at a startup. Make a difference.
· Have 3+ years of experience in investment banking, venture finance, startup finance or consulting
· Wants to get into details
· have extensive knowledge of finance and accounting
· Bachelors degree, further education appreciated
· Self directed, detail oriented, and organized. Good presentation skills
· great excel skills and the desire to improve them
· nice to have:
o fundraising experience
o connections to potential investors
o experience with QuickBooks
