POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, Medicare Strategy and Solutions is responsible for leading our Medicare strategy and operations, providing subject matter leadership to our technology development and serving as the primary relationship manager for our Medicare clients, primarily related to serving the needs of Aetnas Medicare business. The VP, Medicare Strategy and Solutions will report to bswift Chief Operating Officer. 


Immediate responsibilities will include:
  • Provide business leadership, Medicare exchange and market insights, and project oversight to bswifts Medicare business strategy, and technology development in concert with bswifts CTO and Technology Product Management leader. Ultimately accountable for providing vision and business perspective on bswift Medicare roadmap.
  • Serve as key client relationship leader for bswifts relationship with all Aetna Medicare Segments. Serve as primary leader internally for Medicare Strategy and direction.
  • Provide strategy, direction and expertise for future development of Medicare call center strategy and operations.

Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with current bswift Medicare operations team and Practice Leadership teams to ensure alignment with clients direction and goals.
  • Provide Medicare exchange expertise to Operations and Product Management teams.
  • Collaborate with Aetna Medicare Sales teams and support Aetna Medicare Exchange sales, as needed.
  • Collaborate with VP, Call Center Operations to determine call center needs for our Medicare clients.


The Vice President, Medicare Strategy and Solutions will be located in Chicago, IL. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Vice President will work collaboratively with other executives and management to execute on the strategies and plans of the company in order to achieve excellent customer service and consistent profitable growth. 

Qualifications:
  • Must have strong understanding of Medicare and other post-retirement health and welfare benefits, and of market solutions in the Retiree Exchange arena.
  • Must be an exceptional communicator, able to explain bswift's services in an informational, influential, concise, uplifting, and personable manner at all levels of the organization
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment that relies on the ability to multi-task and balance multiple, competing priorities, yet is still able to balance that energy and drive with sensitivity and compassion
  • Works across boundaries easily and effectively, building internal and external relationships in a collaborative fashion
  • Detailed knowledge of employee benefits and related technology solutions preferred
  • Significant health & welfare client relationship management experience preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
  • 5+ years of client relationship and Retiree Exchange experience
  • Must live within commuting distance to Chicago office
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends and travel 20% of time when necessary
  • B.A. or B.S. preferred

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
