Primary Function:
Web Analytics Lead for Grainger Tech.
In the initial months of the job, lead the set-up of Web analytics within Google Analytics 360. This includes partnering across the organization to identify key metrics and reports, and ensuring that those reports and metrics are accurately represented within GA.
On an ongoing basis, actively manage and report out on web analytics results.
Partner with third parties (such as InfoTrust and digital marketing agency) to perform operations and ensure accuracy of results.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up Web Analytics within GA360 for Grainger Tech.
- Identify and set up critical reports and metrics within Google Analytics.
- Partner with third parties to ensure accuracy of information and trouble-shoot any issues on an ongoing basis.
- Report out on key trends and insights from analytics tools.
- Flag any anomalies quickly and drive to root cause independently.
- Partner across Grainger Tech’s organization to share results and insights, following up on questions as needed.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics or equivalent subject required; graduate degree preferred
- At least 3-5 years of experience within web analytics.
- Experience with GA360 and Google BigQuery strongly preferred.
- Ability to link web analytics results to data from other sources to drive insights.
- Ability to independently identify trends, get to root cause, and drive second-order insights from web analytics reports and data.
- Mastery of and comfort with large data sets.
- Experience coding and with analytical tools, such as SAS, SQL, R, preferred.
- Strong business judgment and ability to think through and solve complex problems.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to get to the right answer at a reasonable level of precision (“80/20” rule).
