Job Description:
The Caterpillar Energy & Transportation (E&T) Business Insights Manager oversees an SAP based data warehousing and analytics team; collaborates closely with industry managers (Marine, Oil & Gas, Electric Power and Industrial) to create and grow data use cases that provide visible business insights in support of profitable decision making; networks with our Quote to Cash transaction teams to improve data that leads to insights (Quote, Order, Price, Discount, Inventory, Sales, Market Opportunity and other related data); supports data flows to business processes via interfaces (product information to sales tools and transaction information to legacy systems); and works with our commercial process teams to improve processes and reduce manual work through data automation. This position plays a key role supporting our strategy to enable insights through data and process, employ automation to improve efficiencies, and grow talent to improve these capabilities. It also provides an opportunity to directly contribute to business value and capabilities through continuous improvement in business insights.
This position commercially and technically manages E&T SAP Business Warehouse and Business Objects reporting operations to make data available and help visualize results and insights to our commercial engine industry managers. Reporting to this position are 2 fulltime Cat and 4 contract agency positions, specializing in our commercial data definitions and processes, as well as SAP data extraction, transformation and reporting processes. Incumbent will network closely with our Global Information Systems IT division for technical support, and partner with our Quote to Cash teams to understand data creation processes and improvement opportunities. Driving commercial strategy and close partnering with our engine industry managers are key needs to help drive business value and continuous improvement.
Basic Requirements:

• 4-year degree
• 10 years of progressively related experience
• High intellectual curiosity and analytical mindset
• Good commercial judgment, communication and commercial networking skills
• Ability to understand complex commercial processes and data and learn new systems and tools

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Skills or experience in data structures, SAP Business Warehouse and data visualization tools
• Understanding of E&T Quote to Cash processes
• awareness of commercial engine price list structures and product data
• Awareness of industry and distribution structure
• Project Management experience
