Job Description

The North America SVP of Marketing will provide leadership for the North America and Global Clients Marketing team, which also includes leadership of our BASES Business Unit Global Marketing team. This individual will oversee all marketing activities, which includes demand and lead generation and activation, activation channel development initiatives, market intelligence and segmentation, regional thought leadership, regional events, account-based marketing and additional support from marketing that might be required by the business units.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Possess the ability to recruit, lead, develop and engage a high-performing marketing team 

  • Have the skills to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy and lead its execution 

  • Build creative initiatives/products; drive the highest ROI marketing strategy for the business and ensure the effectiveness of these initiatives 

  • Come with a CPG/retail or information services-related marketing pedigree and be able to demonstrate an ability to build, manage and motivate an exceptional internet marketing team for the North America business 

  • Devise and implement truly innovative offerings that will resonate and inspire our customers, including calls to action and other methods that are targeted and designed to drive business growth 

  • Protect and defend the NIQ brand 

  • Introduce innovative marketing programs that establish relevance, drive demand and generate strong leads that contribute to the North American sales pipeline

  • Help position NIQ’s branding externally

  • Find opportunities to leverage data and identify potential additional revenue streams for the business 

  • Introduce leading-edge marketing via innovative/disruptive approaches which could capture customer mindshare and build brand awareness 

  • Work with the North America Business President, senior leadership and Corporate MarCom to leverage global and regional thought leadership as the anchor for compelling marketing campaign tactics such as webcasts, email marketing campaigns, speaking opportunities and more; 

  • Work closely with Corporate MarCom, Strategy and Corporate Development leadership to support the building of strong, trusted relationships with “target” industry analysts, further strengthening Nielsen IQ brand within the analyst community; 

  • Work with Sales leadership to build and strengthen relationships with customers of NIQ;

  • Direct the necessary research and critical analyses to globally and continually monitor NIQ’s market position, competitive movements, pricing and fees policies, ROI of marketing collateral and other forces that impact the business, its growth, profitability and value;

  • Manage insight and vision as marketed to customers and a rational communications approach to new market entries;

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in global corporate marketing & communication with an emphasis on building a marketing team. 

The ideal candidate should also possess, at a minimum, the following qualifications and attributes: 

  • A minimum 15+ years of experience in global corporate marketing with a significant track record of success in B2B technology and data marketing on a global basis; 

  • Has assisted senior management in a business transformation and helped formulate a strategy and implementation plan designed for growth;

  • Has successfully put together a marketing & communications engine around inbound marketing campaigns and created a strategy value engine; Strong internet marketing pedigree;

  • Deep knowledge of complex selling environments in the powerful B2B technology/platform world and what it takes to build a brand, product awareness and pipeline; 

  • Maturity and influencing skill when working with senior executives, customers, and sales teams to align on goals and work through business challenges; has managed in a matrixed environment; 

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; 

  • Expert in using metrics and marketing performance measurement and how these are critical to optimizing results and ROI in a corporate marketing environment; 

  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and team management skills; 

  • High-energy, can-do attitude; comfortable working in a high-performance business environment.

  • A proactive, hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves management approach; one who can gain credibility and command the respect of his/her superiors, peers and subordinates through leadership, intelligence, hard work, and presence; 

  • Analytical; gleans meaning from data, but also has the confidence to move decisively even without all the data; can make quick decisions, design a plan and implement;

  • A creative, strategic visionary leader; can see and paint the big picture;

  • A strong communicator who has the intelligence and presence to move a room;

  • A manager and gifted coach; shows high ethical and professional standards and expects the same of the team.
