Our new US Fleets team is looking to unlock and operationalize Uber's next wave of mobility growth bets. For nearly a decade, Uber has revolutionized the way drivers turn their personal vehicles into flexible earnings - but countless independent vehicle fleets remain untapped.
Our mission is to harness the rider demand the Uber app surfaces and connect it with this untapped fleet supply and potential for new use cases - all as a marketplace for more mobility offerings.
Imagine if Uber were the go-to for connecting transportation businesses big and small - from name-brands to drivers-turned-fleet-owner-entrepreneurs - with the bride-to-be booking her limo, the superintendent booking the field trip bus, or the soup kitchen shuttling over its volunteers...we want to make this vision a reality!
About the Role
We're looking for a vision-setting Strategy Lead. You'll analyze, segment, and scope the Fleets TAM (total addressable market) to inform prioritization of the geographies, 3rd-party players, and enterprise technologies we'd like to engage with across the US. You'll point to what should come next in our roadmap and why, with data, research, and intel to back it up.
Your work will span Product, Policy, Legal, Regulatory, Safety, Customer Support, Business Development, and Data Science with a strategic focus on understanding key considerations across these partners to inform your considerations and assumptions. Because the US holds some of Uber's fiercest and most complex regulatory markets worldwide, it will be critical that you balance this bottoms-up nuance with a tops-down eye for scalability.
You'll be asked to help shape your own role and the team as we determine priorities. Navigating ambiguity, learning on the fly, and evangelizing a vision will be paramount as we develop this team and the broader Fleets strategy.
What You'll Do

  • Articulate an ambitious but achievable vision for the scaling of our US Fleets business
  • Communicate team priorities, roadmap, and vision through compelling, data-supported materials and conversations
  • Work with many collaborators across the company and potentially outside of it, too.
  • Push for and secure decisions with leadership.
  • Become an expert in the world of Fleets, and apply your qualitative and quantitative expertise as a strategic force within the team.
  • Understand and become conversational in enterprise and B2B technology that serves as an engine for our Fleets platform.
  • Shape your own role, this team's design and culture, and our roadmap.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience
  • Leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of professional work experience; 5+ of those years in consulting / strategy / investment banking / business intelligence / strategy or related field; some high-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership to drive decisions
  • Proven track record of building and executing in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Strong working knowledge or direct management of an overall P&L
  • Strong spreadsheet and querying (SQL or equivalent) skills
  • Strong data visualization skills (Tableau, Looker, dashboarding equivalents)
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
