Principal Software Engineer (Java)
This is a remote position. We are a global team that leverages the latest technology to communicate with our colleagues across the globe. When it’s safe to do so, there may be times in which you could travel to a local office for in person collaborations with your team.
Being a Principal Software Engineer at iManage Means…
You are a passionate Principal Engineer ready to jump into one of iManage's most exciting teams. You will have an opportunity to architect and execute new capabilities within our Threat Manager product, helping our users keep their data safe as well as mentoring other developers through best practices.
You will participate in the architecture, development, and deployment of critical, large-scale products. We are using modern technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Storm, Elastic Search, MariaDB Clusters, and more. We are committed to automated CI/CD, zero-touch production infrastructure, and seamless upgrades with no downtime in the cloud. iM Responsible For…
- Designing and developing modules and features for the iManage Work family of products in Azure cloud
- Collaborating within cross-functional engineering teams as we as peer teams to build an integrated solution
- Collaborating with product managers to define new features
- Encouraging software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, code reviews, design documentation) and related tools like GitHub, JIRA
- Communicating, documenting, and presenting in front of technical and business audiences
- Striving to consistently learn and improve within the company as well as share knowledge with colleagues globally
iM Qualified Because I Have…
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years of experience building scalable distributed systems
- Team leadership & mentoring skills; recent work in driving small teams using an agile development process and experience in owning products or components
- Thought leadership and design skills in one or more key technology areas: high-transaction systems, micro-services-based distributed architectures, fault-tolerant designs, data and system security
- Expert proficiency in Java and extensive experience developing REST API for complex systems. Exposure to full-stack development as a plus
- Proficiency with a NoSQL system. Exposure to relational database systems as a plus
- Understanding of concepts and principles of machine learning as a plus
- Working knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes. Familiarity with a public cloud system like Azure or AWS as a plus
- Secure coding and design practices (including threat modeling) as a plus
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and build management within a Cloud/SaaS environment
