Atlassian is seeking a Head of Strategy and Business Operations (SBO) to a) drive our long-term company strategy, from product/go to market (GTM) strategy to building a multi-year vision with our co-founders and executive team, leading to annual OKRs b) re-envision our company operating system, planning and review and scale-up our capability to drive a $10bn+ revenue company and c) build a diverse, high performing, world-class team that embodies a supportive, values-driven culture.
In this role, you will partner with the core leaders across our executive, R&D leadership, operations, and finance teams. You will have a unique seat on our Product Leadership committee and drive cross-functional initiatives, hence will be expected to have well defined points of view, spar with our exec team and challenge us to rethink how we operate.
You will lead a team that is passionate about delivering high stakeholder impact and hence partners deeply with our business leaders across R&D and GTM. Team building and mentorship will be expected from you - SBO is a team we will continue to invest in as Atlassian grows.
You will be instrumental in paving the way forward for Atlassian to achieve scale that few software companies have realized: $10bn in revenue, 100m in MAU. We think long-term as a company and want you to challenge us on how to drive towards these long-term goals and accomplishing our mission.
In this role, you'll get to:

  • Formulate and present critical strategy recommendations to Atlassian's executive team, including our CEOs and the rest of C-suite
  • Manage and develop a growing team of 40+ SBO managers and associates
  • Partner directly with Atlassian's product leadership team to help Atlassian achieve its goal of reaching 100M MAU (unheard of in enterprise SaaS!)
  • Iterate and drive the business cadence, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews to set, up-level, and create accountability to company OKRs and long-term goals.
  • Monitor, measure and assess how critical initiatives and investments are performing and delivering results for the company
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, sales, analytics, finance, and other teams


On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Extensive experience in high growth software / tech industry, consulting, investment banking / venture capital, buy-side investment
  • Empowerment - Experience building and leading large, distributed teams; and building on a values-based culture
  • Mentor, coach and empower a group of highly intellectual, performance driven individuals and maximize their individual potential towards an even better collective sum
  • Strong business acumen and experience with different GTM models (Product-led-growth a plus, but not required)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills - written and verbal -- to work with CxOs across various geographies and functions; proficient with business and technical discussions
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze data, derive key insights, diagnose business issues, and craft strategic outcomes
  • Passion for learning and innovation - build new methodologies and techniques to tackle business problems and attain a higher level of leadership responsibilities within the company
  • MBA or advanced technical degree a strong plus
