SUMMARY

Cash Product delivers an expansive array of liquidity, cash movement, and cash management solutions to custody clients of Northern Trust. This Cash Product role will work globally and will engage with client servicing and sales in Asset Servicing, Wealth/GFO, NTAM, as well as partners in Corporate functions like Legal, Risk and Treasury. The Product Manager will own (and/or co-own) several Cash Products and be responsible for actioning prioritized projects/initiatives for Cash and Liquidity Product, in alignment of the priorities of the Product Management/Strategy organization, and as articulated by the Lead Product Manager and Cash Product Executive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Manager will be responsible for product management lifecycle activities such as evaluating industry trends, uncovering opportunities, understanding needs of clients and prospects, designing/developing product solutions, and publication of materials for client rollout/product promotion.

The Product Manager will:

  • Collaborate with others in Product Management, with partners in various business units, and with Cash stakeholders to shape the end-to-end product strategy.
  • Utilize market and industry information, as well as the voice of the client, to assess competitive positioning and NT product opportunities.
  • Lead design, development, obtain approval and install/activate prioritized product improvements.
  • Publish client-ready and internal materials to drive understanding of product capabilities, target clients, benefits, and timelines.
  • Present product capabilities to clients and prospects.
  • Guide onboarding activities for new clients in new products, as needed.
  • Create management summaries of product features, and support product risk review processes.
  • Prepare annual plans that support Northern Trust's pursuit of competitive advantage and support completion of capital funding requests.
  • Create and publish performance metrics to determine product effectiveness, acceptance, and expansion opportunities.
  • Assist in Vendor Management or Application Business Owner responsibilities within Cash Product.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of cash payments, cash management (deposits or sweep), cash movement, or other custody cash services, with a minimum of five to seven years in the financial industry
  • Proven leadership of change initiatives, and/or driving of client-impact projects through to completion.
  • Experience in custody trade activities is a plus.
  • Experience agile product development and global collaboration are desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, including proficiency in constructing educational and influential presentations, and distilling complex subject matter into management-ready bullets.
