Technology Business Continuity Manager

Summary

The Business Process Management function is responsible for an end-to-end process analysis and design with an understanding of technical and operating challenges and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment with a focus on Business Continuity for Technology. Participates in the creation and implementation of the Technology tactical strategy for business continuity, business resumption. Subject matter expertise is beneficial.

Major Duties

1. Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities in support of business continuity. Oversees, plans, and manages activities for the business continuity function, ensuring that the business objectives are met in a timely manner.
2. Subject Matter Expertise for client inquires on Technology Business Capabilities in support of the Businesses.
3. Indirectly manages and liaises with domestic and international business continuity recovery coordinators throughout Technology.
4. Participates in the development of long-range business continuity plans. Manages the Business Continuity plans in accordance with corporate standards and guidelines relative to Business Continuity.
5. Coordinates the testing of business continuity plans with the Technology Control Officers, recommends and follows up on business unit implementation of changes to the plans as appropriate.
6. Consults with internal partners to identify critical business functions in order of priority or application/system tier level that must be restored in event of a disruption.
7. Provides leadership of various business continuity related steering committees in conjunction with the senior management of Global Business Continuity and Recovery Services.
8. Assists in the management of the Crisis Communication Committee team during a corporate-wide disaster.
9. Consults with internal partners on business continuity processes assuring consistency with industry best practices.
10. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise

Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business resumption planning usually acquired through related experience is critical to coordinating the planning and recovery processes.
• Strong negotiation and leadership skills are necessary for effective crisis management and assuring successful business recovery.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
• Highly flexible and adaptable to change
• Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

Experience Required

College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred.
