Responsibilities
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will work on a variety of projects, both independently and in conjunction with other team members and leaders. This position will provide support to department projects, including cross-divisional and system-wide initiatives. These functions vary and will require independent judgment and decision-making within broad parameters. This individual will represent Ascension to others within the system and to external partners or associates.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist develops content and coordinates distribution of deliverables to support external marketing and/or internal communication strategies and plans.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensures digital operational readiness of Ascension Medical Group healthcare providers and practices including optimization of provider website profiles, office location pages and online business listings for online findability.
  • Implements tactics that provide local market voice to System "key messages". Ensures that communications are consistent, accurate and appropriate.
  • Supports web updates and edits including content generation for local differentiators, location page creation, and localization of campaign landing pages.
  • Prepares published, printed or electronic deliverables required to support the goals and strategies of communication plans for marketing and/or communication initiatives developed to meet the goals of the business units served by Marketing and Communications (MarCom).
  • Collaborates with MarCom team members and business unit leaders in development of communication plans to support external marketing and/or internal communication initiatives.
  • Ensures consistent framing of messaging and refines core messaging in deliverables, supporting organizational consistency in all aspects of Ascension communications.
  • Monitors trends in best practices. Collaborates with MarCom team members in advocating best practice communications to the business owners served by MarCom.
  • Able to understand the audience, understand writing/content for readability, and follow brand and style guidelines.
  • Coordinates the approval process and production for collateral materials.
  • Oversees the logistics and production of marketing materials, campaigns and special projects.
  • Coordinates planning and execution of marketing tactics to ensure effective and timely completion.
  • Implements tactics that align with brand voice and "key messages".
  • Ensures communication and marketing outputs are consistent, accurate and appropriate.
  • Reviews locally generated marketing collateral and supports internal clients with training of collateral template and ordering system.
  • Provides marketing account management to service line leads.
  • Captures content through online and in-person video interviews.
  • Provides ad management and creative allocation support.


Requirements
Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.


Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience preferred.


Additional Preferences
Work Experience:

  • Three years in the marketing and/or communications specialty area (Brand Marketing, Internal Communications, or Public & Media Relations) preferred.
    Effective communicator capable of gaining the confidence and respect of peers and key stakeholders
