Chicago-based TurboAppeal, a real estate tech company that provides a data-driven tax appeal solution, recently acquired Realytics — another real estate tech company — in order to develop its analytics and B2B offerings.

According to a company statement, the acquisition enables TurboAppeal to help make data more accessible to its clients. The move, they said, helps concrete the company’s position as a leader in real estate technology.

In addition to the acquistion, TurboAppeal also announced the appointment of a new Chief Technology Officer, former Microsoft and CenturyLink executive Scott Beason.

“TurboAppeal is committed to being a leading real estate technology service. Scott adds an element to our team that exponentially increases our capabilities while also reducing our time to market with new services. Additionally we will be launching new enhancements to our web service to help our customers with an even easier experience,” said TurboAppeal co-founder and CEO Badal Shah in a statement.

Dr. Mehmet Dalkilic, the company’s current CTO, will be transitioning roles to Chief Data Officer. According to TurboAppeal, the new position allows Dr. Dalkilic and his team to develop and manage the solution’s algorithms and machine learning capabilities.

Earlier this year, TurboAppeal raised $1.5 million from investors like @Properties, Hyde Park Angels, and Hyde Park Venture Partners.
