The Chicago tech ecosystem is making its mark on the U.S. economy.

Deloitte, a global accounting and professional services company, released its annual Technology Fast 500 list of North America’s fastest-growing tech companies — and 10 Chicago-based companies made the cut.

Avant, a fintech startup that offers online consumer loans and licenses its cloud-based underwriting software to other lenders, led the Chicago pack. The startup clocked in at 28th place, reporting a healthy 6,334 percent annual revenue growth between 2013 and 2016.

Also cracking the top 100 were HR software provider Talent Rover (58) and on-demand shift marketplace Shiftgig (62). The latter, which raised a $20 million Series C at the beginning of the year, grew its revenue by 2,551 percent.

Hireology’s cloud-based hiring and talent management software landed it in 102nd place, with a growth of 1,338 percent. Professional Diversity Network (192), which connects employers with a more diverse candidate pool, and Signal (193), whose software lets brands identify consumers across multiple marketing channels, rounded out the top 200.

Companies from the Chicago suburbs also made waves on this year’s list. Lincolnshire’s Zebra Technologies (329) makes IoT technology used by supply chain companies and the NFL alike to capture data. Arlington Heights’ Paylocity (402) builds tools for online payment and human capital management.

Chicago tech unicorn SMS Assist clocked in at number 413, nearly tripling its revenues in the recorded period. Rise Interactive (475) also increased revenues from its digital marketing operations by a healthy 152 percent.
