The city’s countless tech companies have played a major role in shaping a wide range of sectors, from e-commerce to healthtech. Unsurprisingly, many of the city’s most impressive tech companies also tout top-rated workplaces, placing them at the forefront of Chicago’s tech community. 

Whether they’re transforming the consumer health realm or helping investors reach their financial goals, the city’s tech companies have played a major role in shaping the local tech landscape. For the people behind them, there is no shortage of top-notch benefits, from 401(k) matching to paid volunteer time. 

For Chicago’s tech companies, sticking out involves not only building the best technology but supporting the minds at work behind it. And luckily for job seekers, many of these companies are in the midst of hiring phases. 

Built In Chicago rounded up nine of city’s top local tech companies to provide a glimpse into the city’s growing tech scene. 

 

Home Chef

What they do: Home Chef has helped shape the meal kit delivery space since its founding in 2013. Since its inception, the company has formed a partnership with food retailer Kroger to offer their express meals in grocery stores. Home Chef has grown to include over 1,000 employees nationwide, with plans to continue its steady expansion
