We’re happy to share that our site Spine-Health.com has passed the 6 million page views/month mark.
Our goal is to help people understand and figure out their best treatment options for back pain.
We do this in an original way: the information on the site is the same high quality as a medical journal, but developed specifically for patients. This approach makes it both more in-depth and more reliable than other online information.
We started with low back pain, and over time expanded to include all spine-related conditions as well as www.arthritis-health.com
In addition to our business niche, this is who we are:
- Staying true to our mission of putting the patient first – producing information with their interests first and foremost
- Bootstrapped – allowed us to figure things out our own way (flawed as it may be) without putting financial interests first. This was key in the beginning.
- Hiring the individual, not the skill set – knowing who will fit well with the company is more important than their skill set/experience
- Limiting focus to 2 to 3 core skills – we know what we’re good at, what we’re trying to solve, and we stick with it
This may not be part of our success, but our culture is to work smart during regular business hours and also enjoy living – running marathons, spending time with our kids and spouses/etc., developing creative beer recipes, getting black belts, ... Living in Chicago, of course we all take Friday afternoons off to enjoy summer/Cubs season as much as possible.
Support and expertise from the Chicago business community has definitely been, and continues to be, essential to our growth and success. There are tons of smart and experienced people here who are willing to freely share their expertise - totally valuable, and totally appreciated.
