B6A President To Teach At Northwestern University

Block Six Analytics President Adam Grossman has been selected by Northwestern Univesirty’s School of Continuing Studies Predict and Sports Administration programs to co-develop and teach Sports Management Analytics starting with 2015 Summer Term. The distance learning class will enable students seeking to enter or learn more about the sports industry to use quantitative analysis to enhance the businesses of leagues, teams, competitions, and athletes. This includes learning how to maximize revenue from ticket, media rights, and sponsorship sales using best practice analytics, frameworks and technologies.  

“Students that can understand, apply, and communicate the concepts we discuss in class will have a competitive advantage in achieving success in the sports industry,” Grossman said. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with a great insitution in helping to build a leading global sports analytics program.”

Grossman has worked with sports organizations, including the Minnesota United, Minnesota Timberwolves, and SMG @ Soldier Field to create new predicative analytics capabilities for corporate partnerships and event management activation opportunities. He is also the co-author of the book The Sports Strategist:Developing Leaders for a High-Performance Industry that explores concepts to be taught during the class.

Grossman obtained is undergraduate degree from Northwestern in 2004, and played on the men’s varsity soccer team from 2000-2001.
