Spare to Share is excited to announce that we have been selected by the Young Global Leaders (YGL) Taskforce as one of the finalists in The Circular Awards! A panel of 25 YGL members who all work to expand the circular economy through their existing businesses selected Spare to Share as a business that enables users to live sustainably.

The Circular Awards is an international competition consisting of five award categories including Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Circular Pioneers, Digital Disruptors, and Cities. We are thrilled to be representing Chicago on a global scale!

Entries were submitted from all over the world and Spare to Share is the only finalist in the Digital Disruptor category from Chicago. The other finalists in this category include Lyft, Bundles, ParkFlyRent, TradeShift and Vandebron.

YGL co-chair and CEO of AeroFarms, David Rosenberg stated that the Digital Disruptor category aims to display businesses that are “connecting digitally to what is going on and have this lead to new opportunities for a circular economy.”

Spare to Share is a private sharing and community network for residential buildings. We offer a fun and easy way for residents to connect and socialize through the sharing of skills, items and activities using our simple web & mobile platform within the closed, trusted building community. It’s an excellent way to share or sell all kinds of things including tools, tickets, a parking space and even pet sitting. We help make your building a little more neighborly and connected by enabling communication and sharing among residents, leading to increased loyalty and reduced turns.

Property managers see us as an amenity they can offer to residents to enhance the community feeling in the building, and as a way to communicate with residents using tools they are accustomed to (mobile, alerts, etc.). Residents who know other residents tend to stick around a little longer, reducing churn and vacancy leading to real costs savings as well as an overall happier building. These connected residents also become more loyal and take better care of the building reducing maintenance and management costs.

Take a look for yourself on our website, and check out our short video for more details on how it works. Although we offer our service to property managers, we also allow free use for individual users to create private sharing groups. Register and invite your friends to build your own sharing group today! We also have a great mobile app available (iOS & Android).

To keep track of us and #TheCirculars, we invite you to connect with Spare to Share on Twitter and Facebook
