Chicago's Envestnet is software firm in financial services with 1000+ employees.  Have you heard of them?

"Judson Bergman still has the December 1999 cover of Wired magazine showing a naked female version of Icarus jumping off a cliff: hands splayed, back arched and new wings unleashed. It reminds him of the leap he took that year when he founded Envestnet Inc.
 
“Here we go” was the cover title. The world was plunging into a new millennium, and Mr. Bergman was diving into a new business.
 
As head of mutual funds at Nuveen Investments, he had seen financial advisers start to migrate from big banks to independent advisory startups. His plan was to create a technology tools business that would cater to those new shops. Nuveen wasn't interested in backing him, so he set out on his own..."
