At emazeMe, we recently launched a Hyper-Local content plug-in via Twitter which allows users to read real-time updates from businesses and non-profits in their neighborhood. These updates come in when a business joins emazeMe and adds their twitter handle. We created the plug-in for all 30,000 + zip codes in the US. The Twitter plug-in complements our existing community platform of connecting businesses & non-profits with users by letting users add and share their favorite trusted business with friends and neighbors.
(Think a private more personalized Yelp now meets a hyper-local twitter).
Providing real-time local content has increased our % of monthly active users, increased the number of businesses joining emazeMe and created a path forward towards monitizing emazeMe. The local twitter feed gives our users access to hyper-local content that they might not know about or would have had to go to great difficulty creating on their own via Twitter.
