Show notes

Fred Hoch is the CEO of the Illinois Technology Association (ITA) and Founder and Advisor of TechNexus. In this episode of Journeys, Fred talks about his history as an entrepreneur and reflects on some of the lessons he’s learned while building the ITA and evolving its mission to Grow, Build, and Elevate growth stage technology companies in Illinois and the Midwest.

A few of Fred’s key points include:

  • Delegating to - and then getting out of the way of - your teams is a critical part of building a successful organization.
  • A successful journey requires dedicated focus on the “thing” your company can do to provide value over the long-term; don’t succumb to the temptation of chasing short-term opportunities.
  • Ensure your pricing reflects the real value your customers are getting from your service or product.
