Something to remember this holiday season!

It happens every year around this time, people start to realize the little things in life and start to see everything a lot more clearly. We often take for granted everything that we have in our lives and find ourselves acting very selfish when it comes to problems we face day to day. All it takes is one experience to change the way we see our lives and the world around us. Something happened to me this past week that changed my perspective and cleared up a lot of uncertainty in my own life; and I am sure glad it did.

Myself and one of the other Packback interns Marissa Hall, had the privilege to head out to Washington IL with some other members of our business fraternity. It takes a lot of heart to notice a problem and take action against it and I was very proud of our group for wanting to respond so quickly.

We headed out Friday morning, skipped work and our Packback duties to go provide for these families in need. Whether it be removing a radio tower from a roof or helping families find belongings lost in the wreckage, it was truly a moving experience. We left in the morning complaining about how cold it was and by the time we were headed home we realized how good we actually have it.

I challenge you think about things in a different way this holiday season. Before you start complaining about what’s for dinner or having to go see your family think about what it could be like if you had no home to go back too. Be grateful for the things you are given in this life because they could be gone tomorrow.

From everyone here on the Packback Team, we wish you and your families a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
