Officer position responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and administration of CNA's Agency Sales strategies in Small Business. Leads the Agency Sales Team and Sales Support management staff. This individual and their team will build and maintain effective long-term relationships with CNA's key agents and ensure a high level of satisfaction and increased profitability. Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with senior-level decision makers and influencers at top agencies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
1. Sets the strategic direction for the Agency Sales and Sales Supports team, partnering with Small Business Underwriting, Programs, and Technology. Drive a comprehensive Agency Sales & Support strategy.
2. Manages national agency and broker partnerships to ensure effective relationship management that focuses on strengthening our marketplace presence for top performing agencies.
3. Develops, manages and executes marketing and sales initiatives for Small Business by identifying sales and agency management best practices for use by staff.
4. Responsible for monitoring and continually improving the internal sales culture through formal learning and development, coaching, and enabling on-the-job learning.
5. Manages and monitors effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives and marketing programs.Proposes and implements enhancements in accordance with long term strategy set by senior leadership.
6. Creates and executes external training strategy for learning offered to external agency partners.
7. May include people leadership responsibilities which include managerial accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on performance management, talent development and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
Vice President or above
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Proven working knowledge of the Insurance Industry and/or Underwriting.
2. Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
3. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners as well as the ability to train others in new concepts, technology, or initiatives.
4. Strong leadership and influence skills.
5. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
6. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
7. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
8. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in marketing and/or sales, business, finance, accounting, math or equivalent
2. Typically a minimum of 10 years of related insurance experience with agency management experience, with five years in insurance, underwriting or marketing roles and five years management experience.
