The Business Systems Analyst participates in the analysis of business requirements, documents system workflows and use cases and identifies opportunities for process improvements and recommendations. Prepares materials in advance of meetings (e.g., design sessions, testing sessions), facilitates meetings and documents meeting minutes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a Business Systems Analyst across projects
  • Participate in the analysis of business requirements
  • Document system workflows and use cases. Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommendations
  • Develop functional design documents and align with technical design documents
  • Outline high level application testing
  • Preparation of materials in advance of meetings (e.g., design sessions, testing sessions), facilitates meetings and documents meeting minutes
  • Maintains knowledge of business functionality and technical platforms as the business climate and technology platforms evolve
  • Performs procedural duties within standardized practices, where applicable
  • Complies with and supports all corporate, department and security policies and procedures
  • Experienced specialist with the ability to develop and execute test plans
  • Develops and executes manual and automated test plans/cases to ensure systems are working per detailed requirements
  • Delivers within tight deadlines
  • Experience writing and executing basic SQL to retrieve data from database
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience
  • Experience with AWS, XML, JSON, JIRA, Confluence, HP ALM, ServiceNow, Postman
  • Knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task, and reliable
  • Must have effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong computer/software skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Delivers high quality deliverables on time
  • Clear and concise communication with coworkers
  • Needs tactical guidance of work and deliverables
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Occasional travel required
  • Strong Knowledge of Auto Insurance Rating and how to calculate premiums
  • Delivers within tight deadlines
  • This position works at a local Kemper office with remote work days included.

The range for this position is $86,200 to $143,600. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
