Communications Intern: Media relations, influencer engagement, events and brand partnerships are critical to building awareness, driving trial and earning love for RXBAR. These tactics are key to establishing authentic relationships with trusted third parties, bringing cache and credibility to the brand. The Communications Intern will gain exposure to multiple facets of communications with the end goal of promoting and raising awareness of the RXBAR brand.

The ideal candidate is well-organized, has a strong work ethic and can manage multiple projects at once, as well as a strong intellectual curiosity and passion for building brands through, communications and events. This is a short-term internship with potential to progress into a full-time position. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

General Functions + Responsibilities:

• Support team leads helping drive strategic media relations, influencer engagement, brand partnerships and event execution
• Review communications-related incoming inquiries, vet and loop in appropriate team members for execution
• Manage incoming event donation requests, vetting opportunities, communicating with outside parties and fulfilling product donation shipments
• Support recapping large donations; compile feedback & photos
• Coordinate with internal Supply Chain team on large-scale and custom product shipment logistics
• Track donation discount codes across various verticals
• Assist with creating and packing materials for various needs (hand-written notes, gift bags, collateral, custom shipments, etc.) and handle shipment of materials
• Assist with researching and coordinating influencer-related subscription box opportunities
• Research and support communication with new influencers within target verticals (fitness, food, travel, fashion, etc.)
• Gather insights from campaigns and create a recap following execution
• Assist with merchandise/swag management and shipments
• Research activity of other relevant brands and share insights with team
• Monitor RXBAR social media platforms and assist in customer engagement as needed
• Staff local and national events as necessary
• Assist with ad hoc marketing projects
• Provide general office support

Skills and Qualifications:

• Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for growing our business
• Previous experience in Public Relations, communications, social media and/or events
• Currently earning (to be completed by June 2018) or a completed Bachelor’s degree in public relations, mass communications, journalism, marketing or related field
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality
