Home Chef is looking for a Category Manager of Protein to lead the end-to-end management of the category from strategy to execution in order to meet Home Chef’s financial and operational goals.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain category strategy
Own the identification, evaluation, and choice of suppliers for category
Coordinate, negotiate, and manage RFP strategy with both new and current suppliers
Ensure RFPs are executed smoothly at the local level without supply interruption
Work closely with culinary team to identify new ingredient needs and test new suppliers to ensure product meets high standards
Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Food Safety teams to ensure all suppliers/products meet Home Chef requirements
Work with Procurement Operations, Warehouse and site teams to improve supply chain performance
Conduct supply market analysis and collect supplier intelligence to drive sourcing improvement
Attend industry conferences to identify new trends, suppliers and/or ingredients
Generate, prioritize and implement new product ideas

Qualifications:

Minimum 2-4 years of procurement and sourcing experience (category-related preferred)
Proven history of managing others
Excellent communication, both oral and written
Strong data and numerical orientation
Strong project management
Ability to lead cross functional teams and stakeholders
Data-driven mindset and comfort with analysis

Iyer is a senior manager of new product development, but she also plays an active role in Home Chef’s cross-functional group, HC Connect. The group organizes social events that promote a sense of belonging across the company and also collaborates with the many affinity groups at Home Chef. Recently, Iyer attended a Mardi Gras trivia night where she learned about Creole culture and Spanish law.

I try to attend as many events as possible. I want to support my peers, but I also walk away with more than I expected, whether it’s a piece of trivia or understanding someone’s perspective in a new light.
