Content Strategist, Senior Associate, Commercial Bank Marketing
Job Description
Description
We’re looking for an end-to-end content strategist who is equally passionate about user-centric content and ensuring it is delivered to the right customer at the right time. Join us in this new content strategy role and help us create exceptional experiences.
About you
You apply systems thinking to your work and consider the customer experience from the first time a user arrives on the site through exploration, task completion and return visits. You can make recommendations on how to tailor content to the customer’s situation and keep it direct, simple and conversational. You want to ensure content is findable and know how to create a tagging structure. You’re always on the lookout for relevant content and new topics of interest to your customers. You love to learn and can’t wait to share your knowledge with others. You’re not afraid to ask questions.
About the job
The front- and back-end content strategy deliverables you’ll create will make it easier for our Commercial Real Estate customers to find the latest industry headlines, research and events they are looking for to ensure the content meets their needs.
Daily: No two days will be the same, but you can expect to work on a range of projects and tasks with the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Content Producer and other members of the Marketing team. You could be analyzing content metrics for user insights, identifying content needs or gaps or communicating your findings and recommendations through a presentation or a user scenario.
Weekly: Produce briefs for original articles and editorial features. As the owner of the faceted taxonomy, collaborate with the Content Producer to ensure the tagging taxonomy is being applied properly and help ensure content is findable.
Quarterly: Perform a quarterly audit on everything published in the content sections of the site and ensure all previously published content meets current standards; collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor/Copy Chief on turning recommendations into an action plan.
Qualifications
During the interview process be prepared to speak to – and share work samples – that demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working on both front-end and back-end content strategy activities and deliverables, including the following activities:
- Front-end: Identify content and topics needed for the site’s target audience and assess what they need most; determine how to both satisfy customer needs and meet business goals; experience with content curation, customer personas and journey maps; create/manage editorial style guidelines and calendars; develop SEO guidelines
- Back-end: Identify how content can be reused; manage and maintain a faceted taxonomy; create a content model for a CMS; understand what’s necessary to deliver personalized content experiences
- Experience working with content management systems; AEM or Drupal preferred
- Familiarity with editorial style guides, including AP Style, and publishing process flows
- Understanding of how user experience impacts content consumption
- Basic understanding of HTML
- Ability to use all standard software tools and, more importantly, the ability to learn new ones

- Demonstrated flexibility – able to shift strategies and tactics when required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Five years of professional content strategy experience required, with at least two years in a daily publishing environment
