Content Marketing Manager
GoHealth is searching for a Content Marketing Manager to join our brand marketing team and lead our content strategy and internal editorial production capabilities. In this role, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to own your practice area from start to finish. As a Content Marketing Manager, you’ll match business opportunities with multimedia content ideas. Then, you’ll define the content scope, oversee a team of full-time and freelance writers to execute the pieces, and fully activate the work on external channels. For each asset your team creates, you’ll define and track success metrics to gauge your impact on SEO / organic leads, brand visibility, and social media engagement.
In this role, you will lead a team of writers but also write and edit material yourself. For more complex projects, you will partner with our in-house multimedia team and GoHealth subject matter experts. Projects will vary from direct response landing page copy for lead generation to research reports and SEO-rich articles. The ideal candidate is passionate about strategic content, has an ability to make complex topics simple, and is dedicated to establishing and upholding a consistent brand voice in all content pieces.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a master content plan that meets lead generation and strategic brand goals; translate this plan into an editorial calendar and manage the workflow to execute
- Create short-form and mid-length direct response content for lead generation including native articles, landing page copy, and paid social advertisements
- Outline and write mid- and long-form SEO articles and educational brand content that drives significant visibility, organic traffic, and converts visitors to leads
- Generate in-depth industry reports and, partnering with the insights team, consumer impact studies to advance GoHealth’s reputation in health insurance related topics
- Ensure all content the team produces is original, well-researched, fact-checked, and has strategic and SEO alignment
- Lead a team of full-time and freelance writers and editors, assigning and editing work and ensuring all deadlines are met according to publication schedules
- Develop a set of editorial guidelines and a brand tone document; ensure content consistently meets these standards and serves our target consumers’ needs
- Support other business units including public relations and strategic partnerships
- Own the full activation of all content developed – from publication on the website to packaging full-length content for distribution on internal and external brand channels
- Own the paid activation and content marketing initiatives to amplify content created
- Manage an ongoing content refresh to sustain SEO rankings and data accuracy
- Develop a constructive relationship with our legal team to mitigate risk
- Foster strong relationships with internal SMEs, including our Chief Medical Officer, to build an authoritative expert content platform and elevate brand ambassadors
- Partner within marketing to showcase member testimonials and success stories
- Leverage UX and research teams to improve how users consume our content
- Recommend new ways to deliver content to drive engagement and business value
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5-7 years’ experience writing, reporting or writing copy for digital platforms
- 2-3 years’ experience creating and executing a direct to consumer content strategy
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team from concept to execution, providing feedback to increase efficiency and achieve multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Meticulous ability to edit and proofread copy with strong written communication skills
- Able to deliver actionable feedback to writers that drives an efficient creative process
- Previous experience developing editorial and brand voice guidelines
- Exceptional organization skills and ability to be strategic and executional
- Thorough knowledge of grammar, syntax, and spelling; understanding of AP and Chicago writing styles and citation standards
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing
- Experience in the health insurance or Medicare, or a strong desire to understand it
- Experience and passion in developing high-quality, data-backed and engaging content that helps consumers
- Solid understanding of digital lead gen, SEO, public relations, and content marketing
