Copywriter, Product Marketing at Morningstar

Our Product Marketing team is critical to achieving this goal. We are looking for a Copywriter for our Software Product Marketing team to support the creation of authentic and differentiated product marketing content that reaffirms our purpose, promotes the high standard for content we value, and drives rich customer experiences that cohesively express the Morningstar brand at every interaction and opportunity.
The Role: In this role, you’ll guard the standard for quality through writing and editing content. You won’t just think about the content in front of you, but the messages that came before and after to support the creation of compelling end-to-end content experiences. It will be your mission to translate the sophisticated technical capabilities of our investment analysis software platforms and associated tools into clear benefits for asset managers, advisors, and the clients they serve.
In partnership with our product marketing, product management, and content strategy teams, you’ll be responsible for crafting website copy, blog posts, whitepapers, social media posts, nurture and other prospecting emails, event-specific content, sales enablement materials, and webinar communication assets to facilitate product marketing campaign production and measurement. You will also collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams to execute and optimize best practices for multi-channel content campaigns with an end goal of showcasing great products that help investors reach their financial goals. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Content Strategy for Product Marketing and collaborates closely with the Software Product Marketing team.
We’re looking for someone who will:
Write and edit compelling content for social media, events, sales collateral, digital experiences, and email campaigns.
Interview our users and subject-matter experts to generate thought leadership stories that inspire and excite.
Champion a natural language approach to brand voice and style.
Think in systems, always keeping in mind what came before and what comes after for the reader or user.
Spot a typo from a mile away and take the initiative to fix it.
Work closely with content strategists and marketers to bring fresh creative direction to marketing campaigns.
Show enthusiasm for tackling new challenges, learning new skills, and pitching in where you’re needed.
Keep up with digital trends and think about how we can apply them to our work.
Build a deep understanding of Morningstar’s value, our capabilities, and how we serve our audiences.
Use their interest in investing to propel rich, thoughtful content development.
Experience we’d like to see:
Minimum of 4 years experience in content strategy, writing, or editing in an agency or corporate environment.
A degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field; a master’s degree or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
Working knowledge of content management systems.
Confidence in ability to write creative copy for multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Superb communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated ability to work with marketers, content strategists, and subject-matter experts.
A solid understanding of how to maintain consistent style and voice.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Experience with investment data or the financial services industry is a plus, particularly with regulated entities.
Experience with AP Style and writing for B2B products is a plus.
