Department OverviewDelivering more than 2,500 customer-focused proposals annually, ranging in length from a few pages to multiple volumes, the North America Proposal Center (NAPC) provides proposal management, writing, and multimedia services to Motorola Solutions’ North America Sales teams. Motorola Solutions helps government, public safety and commercial customers improve their operations by providing solutions and services to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of their workforce.
Job Description
The Proposal Content & Tools Manager supports proposal, presale, product, and offer teams by administering and maintaining the content and tools necessary to create and deliver quality customer facing sales documents to Motorola Solutions’ customers. The Proposal C&T Manager administers the knowledge and content management tools used by proposal teams to develop RFP responses, and ensures that standard proposal content is up-to-date within those tools. The Proposal C&T Manager trains new and ongoing users of proposal teams and sales members, and develops new and innovative ways to train our presale teams in the use of proposal tools and content.
Job Responsibilities
Manage proposal content and content delivery tools used by proposal managers and their cross-functional teams of engineers, presale business managers, and other SMEs to develop RFP responses and complex sole source proposals.
Collaborate with proposal managers to ensure that RFP documents are ingested into RFPio according to the customer structure and response requirements
Assist proposal managers with exporting responses from RFPio into MSI proposal templates and into customer documents, as appropriate
Administer tools, including access controls, logins, and role-based permissions
Supports the interface of proposal development tools and content with solution configuration and quote tools
Add new standard and RFP content, upload revisions, and curate existing content to ensure that it is organized and current in tools and sites for use by proposal managers, teams, and partners
Notify proposal managers and presale teams of new and updated content
Manage and track content updates according to an established refresh cycle
Maintain reports and statistics regarding content and tool usage, as well as user activities
Enforce content governance rules through naming conventions, tagging policies, and archiving outdated content
Act as first-line support for users of RFPio, standard content, and other proposal tools
Train proposal managers, sales, and presale teams on use of RFPio, content sites, and proposal tools
Assist proposal team members in finding specific content
Liaise with both internal users and tool vendors and CSMs to enhance knowledge and optimize tool usage
Specific Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor's Degree
1+ years of experience in one of the following: CRM, Content Management, Implementation, Training, Project Management or Marketing
Beginning knowledge of Salesforce reporting and content management tools
Demonstrated ability to coordinate tools, resources, and people through to project completion
Excellent verbal and written communication and training skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to thrive and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Confidence to navigate a large matrix of products and services and organizational teams
Ability to develop cross-functional relationships across matrixed organizations
Excellent time management skills
Begionning/intermediate experience with document development and formatting in Google and Office Suites
