The SEO Content Writer is responsible for developing, creating, and enhancing a key element of any SEO marketing strategy – unique content. Consistent, high-quality content works on several levels to improve a website’s ranking on search engines and increase brand awareness, as well as provide consumer knowledge.

This entry-level position is responsible for creating SEO-friendly content for online publication. In this position, the writer will create numerous articles and website content for a variety of automotive dealers. They will also peer-edit articles along with the rest of the team.

The ideal candidate for this position is a passionate writer who enjoys research and creative thinking while possessing a flexible, team-motivated attitude. Since SEO is an ever-changing environment, willingness to learn and adapt along with current best practices is key.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The Content Writer is required to complete a full content workload for clients every month without sacrificing quality
  • The Content Writer is required to edit a given amount of articles each month
  • Also required is email communication with clients once articles are completed, as well as keeping an updated monthly calendar with assignments and progress
  • Ability to meet timelines and deadlines for tasks or ability to make adjustments to meet the requirements
  • Deliver work on-time and on-budget
  • Make changes to articles per client or OEM Compliance requests
  • Collaboration with team members to expedite tasks, along with willingness to get the work completed
  • Ability to create high-quality content that reflects the desired voice of a brand and drives results
  • Capture brand voice and adhere to OEM guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of web content best practices, including on-page SEO
  • Ability to create original content that adheres to company SEO best practices and strategies
  • Inspect completed tasks for proper SEO value, quality, and accuracy as well as ensuring that it is in line with the request
  • Uploading and building content pages across various website platforms
  • A strong passion for researching new topics across all areas of automotive, including service, parts, finance, and vehicle features
  • Able to take inspiration from various sources to create unique content that is both accurate and unique
  • Through self-education, keep up to speed on digital and marketing trends and apply those tactics to projects
  • Knowledge, usage, and maintenance of various internal and external tools and software required to perform the job
  • Overall ability to present and convey strategies to internal team members
  • Adherence to company writing style guide
  • Other Content Writer Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adaptability and flexibility with article assignment scheduling
  • Responsible to escalate account issues to department manager as needed. This would be prior to collaborating with account team to resolve
  • Participate in client calls and strategy meetings with account team if needed
  • Participate in staff trainings for improved product knowledge, ongoing education/development and industry updates
  • Assist with new team member training/onboarding as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1 year of content writing experience
  • Strong writing background
  • Excellent grammar skills
  • Has ability to write in a variety of forms (differing by project, audience, word count constraints, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Self-motivated and able to consistently execute ideas from initial concept to finished work
  • Has outstanding organizational skills; the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time professionally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with in a diverse environment and team atmosphere
  • Aptitude for knowing when to ask questions and anticipate client/article needs

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of AP Style
  • Knowledge of SEO, Social Media Advertising, and Digital Marketing
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with high-volume, fast-paced working environment
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry or vehicle features/mechanical functions

EDUCATION

  • Must possess a 4-year degree in related field from a college or university.
