The Challenge:

We are looking for an action-oriented Technical Writer to join our team and ensure that our customers are thrilled with our platform. This is a role for someone who has a bias for action and getting things done. You should have a deep technical background and knack for translating developer speak into layman’s terms and back again. You will be an integral part of the Product team and the success our customers have with the oak9 platform. Success in this role will mean that our internal and external documentation is clear, consistent, and easy to use. Our customers should be able to use your work to resolve most questions they have about the platform.

The Skillset

• 4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
• Strong technical interest and aptitude; Must be able to translate technical product information into documentation for all users 
• Experience working with a SaaS, cloud-based product is preferred 
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills 
• Experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process 
• Experience working with Atlasssian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc) preferred 

In 30 days, you will...

• Get to know oak9! Learn about our systems, processes, people, and vision 
• Become intimately familiar with cloud service provider offerings and security considerations associated with them 
• Work with the Product Team to understand upcoming feature and product releases and how they impact users 
• Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users 

In 60 days, you will...

• Write user-facing content including Help Center articles, how-to guides, and other marketing content, as needed 
• Publish and maintain style guides and templates for written documentation produced by others, ensuring a consistent visual identity and tone 
• Collaborate with product leaders and managers to gather feedback, write release notes and follow up the development status 

In 90 days, you will...

• Maintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use 
• Act as an editor to ensure consistency in documentation, including some cross-departmental writing and review
