Head of Sales

Orverveis seeking a Head of Sales to support a new innovation hub.

Orderve is a start-up that is building an online marketplace dedicated to restaurants discovering and sourcing specialty food for their businesses. We are challenging the legacy food service business model with an e-commerce marketplace platform that will connect chefs with vendors small and large. While supported by a well-established food service company, we operate as an independent start-up focused on solving specific user-centered problems around buying and selling food.

What you’ll do

As Orderve grows, we have a need for a strong manager to organize and lead up our sales team. As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of both an outside and inside sales team to annual targets. You will also be responsible for keeping the Sales team on track by both removing sale barriers and building creative new sales tactics and implementing growth strategies. You will have the ability to construct new, best in class sales processes. This management position will also me in charge of building our new sales team as we expand into new markets. In order to accomplish all these tasks, it is important that the Head of Sales communicates and interfaces across all departments to fully understand the companies process. 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of, and preferably experience with sales, cultivating relationships, developing new business, and providing innovative solutions to our customers.

  • Experience in managing a group of salespeople and facilitating their sales goals. 

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, willing to foster team members’ professional development and cultivate future leaders.

  • Ability to initiate action with a drive to achieve success (e.g., achievement orientation, initiating action, energy, self-confidence)

  • Able to work in a multidisciplinary team through undefined, complex situations with fast-changing demands and inputs

  • Above all else, the ability to create long lasting customer relationships by solving customer problems. 

  • Restaurant/Food Service experience is prefered. 

About You:

  • Excellent communication, storytelling skills, interpersonal and public speaking skills (written, verbal, and visual)

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a self-directed culture

  • Ability to frame problems and present results to an executive level audience

Requirements:

  • 3 year of prior sales management, business, or food service experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree (MBA a plus)

  • Proficiency with CRM solutions,  Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides, Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software as needed.
