GoHealth is looking for a Data Engineer responsible for the design, development, execution and delivery of all reporting needs for the company. We are seeking candidates who have extensive experience in data analysis, reporting and visualizations that meet the complex requirements of our various business unit needs. The Data Engineer will be the owner of all reporting infrastructure including execution, documentation, maintenance, and metadata management. They will also support the development of infrastructure necessary for full scale data science, predictive analytics and machine learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deploy Microsoft SSRS and/or Power BI reports with multiple visualizations embedded in output and sourced from various inputs including SQL server, MySQL, Excel, Text files, MS Access, Azure and SharePoint
  • Automate data pipelines using SSIS and/or other tools
  • Monitor, execute and deliver reports as well as working closely with support teams to take corrective action quickly in case of issues
  • Perform all required validation testing and adhere to report development standards and processes
  • Ability to configure metrics, dashboards and visual output to accommodate changes quickly
  • Create and maintain documentation and metadata of all reports which includes functional and technical designs, operational support and maintenance procedures
  • Ensure quality, validity and consistency of all data points, metrics and KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for data transmission, storage, and data access
  • Collaborate with the rest of the BI Team, subject matter experts and department leaders to define, build and deliver new reports
  • Maintain and administer reporting infrastructure which includes SSRS servers, Power BI sites, Office 365, PowerApps and SharePoint apps
  • Ability to work with the rest of the BI Team to cross-train and provide support for other BI tasks like ETL Development, Cube Maintenance, Data Analytics and Requirements Gathering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years’ experience in report design and development
  • Knowledge and/or experience of all other tools in the Microsoft BI Stack: SSIS and SSAS
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling
  • Hands-on experience working with and creating dashboards, metrics, KPIs and advanced visualizations (bubble graphs, Pareto charts, cluster groupings, gauges, heat maps, geospatial maps)
  • Advanced ability in SQL 2012 and above, experience in MySQL preferred but not required
  • Proven experience extracting data from non-SQL data sources (MySQL, Excel, Access, SharePoint, Azure, Text files) both on-premise and in the cloud
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex processes to individuals of varying technical abilities
