Responsibilities

The Data Scientist will be responsible for the technological and methodological aspects of product development, which includes rapid prototyping (data processing, data modeling, and user interface development) and automation using technology and tools such as Hadoop, R, Python, Postgres, SQL, and Microsoft Azure.

 Responsibilities:

• Partner with internal stakeholders (Consulting team and other service lines) in designing and prototyping, as necessary, to ensure that resulting solution matches business requirements
• Work with a team to develop analytical methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria
• Explains complicated methodologies, findings, and recommendations to internal clients and project teams in understandable terms
• Participates in the development of business cases for new business solutions
• Leads the rapid prototyping of new solutions using open source technology and tools (e.g. Hadoop, R, Python, Azure)
• Demonstrates strong problem solving skills, working with stakeholders and other team members to fully analyze issues and develop actionable recommendations
• Analyses and models structured and unstructured data using advanced statistical methods, including machine learning algorithms
• Processes data in large-scale environments
• Interfaces with multiple business units to help us grow analytics as a competitive business advantage and as a Center of Excellence within the business
• Builds a performance driven culture with a strong foundation of intellectual curiosity

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

• University Degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Data Science, or a relevant discipline; advanced degree preferred

Skills:

• Cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to develop relationships throughout the organization, including the executive level
• Ability to direct the interrogation, access, extraction, cleansing, and transformation of data from a variety of systems
• Ability to lead the design and/or development of data and business applications within specified time frames and budget constraints

Knowledge & Years of Experience:

• Three years of experience in a data science field
• Two years of experience in analyzing unstructured data and applying machine learning algorithms
• Proven effectiveness in project management and delivery
• Experience using open source programs (e.g., R, Python, Tensorflow, Octave) and Tableau
