Cat Digital’s Analytics team is looking for a talented and motivated Analytics Technical Specialist to develop and deliver analytics models to drive dealer and customer value for the Equipment Care Advisor product. As a data scientist, you will use machine learning and other analysis techniques to interrogate time-series machine sensor data and deliver valuable condition monitoring insights for machines operating in every corner of the globe.
Typical problems include but are not limited to: developing analytics models to predict maintenance requirements based on physics-informed understanding of engines and machine systems, segmenting machine applications to better understand operator’s behavior, and extracting key performance metrics from large numbers of machines running in real world applications.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related fields)
• 8+ years of significant experience developing code in a modern programming language (Python,
Java, C++)
• 8+ years of significant project experience processing time-series machine sensor telematics data
Top Candidates Also Have:
• PhD degree in Data Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Data
Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields)
• Experience in artificial intelligence, such as rules-based reasoning and machine learning
approaches including deep learning
• Understanding of complex electro-mechanical systems (engines, drivetrain, hydraulics, controls,
structures, etc.) and their maintenance requirements
• Experience in physics-based simulation or validation of off-road machinery
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Self-initiative
• Works well in team environment
