Position Summary:

Position Title: Analytics and Data Strategy Lead

Reports to: CEO

Collaborates with: All departments

 

Position Description:

NowPow offers data and analytics to its customers to help them manage workflows, track interventions, measure outcomes of people they serve and build community resource networks. We are looking for an experienced data professional to lead our Analytics and Data Strategy department. The primary responsibility of the position will be to set the strategic direction for NowPow’s customer and owned data and to provide high quality and relevant insights to customers. The Lead will manage a team of analysts and data scientists to execute on the strategies. Additionally, the Lead will create and institutionalize a process for distributing insights to internal stakeholders that will drive business decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with departments to solve complex data architecture and reporting challenges for diverse stakeholders, especially for networks and hubs
  • Developing the Analytics roadmap in collaboration with the Product team
  • Acting proactively to scale the department, its infrastructure and processes, to keep pace with company growth and customer demands
  • Building and leading an advanced analytics competency within the department, serving as a mentor to junior analysts
  • Develop and iterate on analytics offerings and reportable metrics to drive insights for internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying data-related opportunities for new product development features
  • Working with the Product and Engineering teams to develop and implement data products within the platform
  • Willingness to get in the weeds to do ad-hoc reporting and analysis, creating reports for customers and internal business teams
  • Serving as a data ambassador within the company, continually advocating for robust data infrastructure, working to embed data into decision-making and educating stakeholders on all things data
  • Being vigilant in the iteration of department workflows to increase efficiency, productivity and data quality
  • Facilitating team and 1:1 meetings to identify blockers, problem-solve and coach
  • Fielding internal and external stakeholder questions about data and analytics and translating complex, technical subjects into clear business-oriented communications
  • Initiating and developing long term business relationships in healthcare

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, computer science, informatics , economics, mathematics)
  • 7 years of experience in positions that require a combination of management experience, healthcare consulting, data analysis and information reporting
  • 3 years of data-related experience developing and productionizing algorithms or other experience with AI, deep learning, machine learning and predictive analytics with big data
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with programming and querying languages: Python, C#, SQL is a plus
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as matplotlib, d3.js, PowerBI
  • Applied statistics skills, such as statistical testing, regression
  • Research experience or an understanding of research, especially health services research
  • Comfortable working in teams and interfacing with customers, including healthcare executives at large health systems
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and strong track record of setting and meeting commitments
  • The ability to be candid and forthright and conduct oneself with maturity and integrity in all situations
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to work on a dynamic mix of tasks no matter how big or small
  • Commitment to social impact initiatives and helping underserved communities

Preferred, but not required:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Services and Solutions, including Data Lakes, Azure ML
  • Experience with geographic information systems (i.e. QGIS, ArcGIS or other mapping tools)
  • Experience working with healthcare data and familiarity with health IT industry a plus
