Summary

The candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable and resilient hybrid and Cloud-based applications and data solutions supporting critical financial market clearing and risk activities; helping to drive the strategy of transforming the enterprise into a data-driven organization; lead through innovative strategic thinking in building data solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

You will be part of the Data team, a diverse group of dedicated engineers who are very passionate about data. As the Data team member, you will be responsible for building, development, implementation and support of DevOps solutions for cloud-based applications and data systems that will serve as the backbone for the enterprise data management and analytics capabilities. You will work closely with internal and external business and technology partners. You will help us take on unique technical challenges associated with building large and complex data pipelines that integrate data coming from diverse sources in different formats, implementing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, automating everything we can get our hands on, and taking part in the API-first design principle implementation. Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development

  • Hands-on experience working in DevOps culture focusing on automation and process improvement

  • Ability to handle backend development tasks, building scalable distributed data solutions

  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) in Waterfall, Lean, and Agile work environments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Desire and ability to learn other programming languages

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Work experience in the capital markets, preferred

Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years of hands experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, tools, and technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker, Ansible, Terraform and Harness

  • 3+ years of experience delivering technology in a DevOps and Cloud Engineering environment

  • Experience working with Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP, AWS preferred) in multi-availability zone, multi-region deployments

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools and technologies such as Rancher and EKS

  • Good understanding of data integrations patterns, technologies, and tools

  • Experience with distributed message brokers such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or Amazon Kinesis is desirable

  • Experience with Hygieia DevOps dashboard and integration with DevOps tools is a plus

  • Familiarity with Big Data processing technologies and frameworks such as Presto, Hadoop, Spark, Flink and with different types of data formats and structures such as like JSON, Protobuf, Avro is desirable

  • Scripting experiences with shell, python, ruby, or similar languages

  • Experience with SQL and exposure to AWS based databases such as PostgreSQL and Redshift, and data formats such as parquet and Protobuf is a plus

  • Programming experience using Python or Java with strong hands on experience writing automated tests is a big plus

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Certificates or Licenses:

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate Level is a plus

  • Big data related certification is a plus
