The Data & Analytics Junior Business Analyst will wear many hats while supporting the team in everything from requirements gathering, technical investigation, testing, training, and post-deployment support. You will work alongside developers, data architects, and company leaders to support the implementation of company wide solutions, all while learning and growing your skill set. You will collaborate across the business on documenting user needs, writing user stories, participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and validating whether developed features and capabilities satisfy acceptance criteria and metric goals. This is an exciting role that will present the challenge of quickly troubleshooting issues, documenting requests for support, and helping our Data & Analytics team deliver value to the organization all while balancing available resources and capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Interpret technical and business strategy roadmaps and apply a detailed technical solution
- Review and triage support tickets with a high level of autonomy
- Help team write high quality user stories by capturing user requirements
- Communicate status of requests or project to business stakeholders on a regular basis
- Participate in established sprint cadences
- Work with key stakeholders and end users to gather, define, and validate business requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to learn and understand complex systems and processes
- Ability to analyze, understand, and prioritize business problems
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and quantitative experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 0-2 years’ experience working with technical/data/analytics platforms or solutions
- Experience working with business and technology resources
NICE TO HAVE:
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, IF functions, etc.)
- SQL knowledge (RDBMS structure, select queries, etc.)
- Experience in data warehousing, data analytics, or data management
- Love of data, solving problems, and learning new things
