The team of 500+ is comprised of Infrastructure + Operations, Cyber Security, Technology Planning, Architecture and Engineering and are built in a way to support the dynamic and ever changing customer landscape.

Responsibilities / Experiences

Work Complexity

  1. Applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to complete assignments of low to moderate-complexity (as further described in the following point).
  2. Works on assignments where the business and technology problems, opportunities, and solutions may be somewhat unclear, some unknowns exist, the stakes and visibility are moderate, and the risk of failure is moderate.
  3. Works as an individual contributor, under immediate supervision.

Planning & Innovation

  1. Collaborates with Product Managers and Delivery Managers on planning efforts related to their work.
  2. Investigates and develops ideas and positions on technology and business issues under the direction of others.

Communications

  1. Works closely with project teams to develop communication materials such as presentations, and written and oral communications of low to moderate complexity.
  2. Works closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

Problem Solving

  1. Assists in investigating, resolving, and escalating problems.
  2. Gathers data to support recommendations to address problems.
  3. Develops recommendations for problems of low to moderate complexity for review by other staff. 
  4. Identifies and may provide technical assistance to help in problem resolution.

Business Case

  1. Articulates the business impact of opportunities and problems through financial and non-financial analysis to form compelling business cases on issues of low to moderate complexity.
  2. Clearly communicates the organization’s options through the business case making full use of external research and industry-specific trends.
  3. Clearly articulates recommendations and benefits in business language and measures the contribution of IT projects to business value for low to moderate level complexity.

Product & Technical Support

  1. Assists in reviewing checklists and scripts and updates as needed.

Standards, Policies and Procedures

  1. Complies with standards, policies, and procedures.
  2. May support the establishment of standards, guidelines, and procedures for Analysts.
  3. Assists in coordinating communications regarding new and revised policies and standards.

Knowledge, Information and Content Management

  1. Ensures all low to moderately complex documentation is delivered according to specified guidelines.
  2. Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  3. Creates, captures, manages, and shares information.
  4. Reviews and proofreads low complexity documents for accuracy.

Research/ Evaluation

  1. Keeps current with new and emerging technologies in assigned areas of focus.
  2. Analyzes technology trends in assigned areas of focus to determine impact to the achievement of business goals.
  3. Performs best practices research at the direction of other staff.
  4. May collaborate with Indirect Procurement and may co-lead vendor evaluations.

Training

  1. Assists senior Analysts in the development of training materials.
  2. Coaches and trains ES staff and Business Partners. 

Privacy

  1. Responsible for designing project deliverables which meet Grainger’s Privacy Policies and Principles, and engaging in Grainger’s privacy review processes to solicit approval regarding same.

Coaching/ Mentoring

  1. Receives and acts on coaching.
