The Role, Along With Everything You’d Expect

  • Design and implement reports and models to support business decisions
  • Work with Topstep’s various departments to determine key performance metrics of the business or operations and track over time across multiple departments
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on effectiveness of company and department initiatives. 
  • Drive positive results by translating data into actionable recommendations across departments and initiatives
  • Assist in data collection design for any tests being conducted as well as success metrics for any initiatives
  • Work with departments to design and implement multivariate experiments; monitor results and pacing for statistical significance.
  • Monitor, research, and report on the business health of the organization and notify the stakeholder when action should be taken to maintain a healthy company profit margin
  • Create predictive models for projecting revenue and margin and recommending action when deemed necessary.
  • Communicate analysis using storytelling and any other important communication technique
  • Inform Product Roadmap
    • Assess the potential of various features or roadmap opportunities
    • Use data to identify new product opportunities
    • Support Product Managers with data analyses to help inform business decisions (impact analysis, root cause analysis, cost/benefit analysis), expediting product discovery and prioritization efforts
    • Provide insights into product usage to inform innovation or opportunities
    • Work closely with other departments to help understand how you can provide data to power decision making

The Ideal Candidate

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Analytics, or related field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years experience in Business Analysis or related field
  • Experience in analyzing data using usual and customary data analysis techniques to draw business-relevant conclusions and using common data visualization techniques and tools including SQL, Quicksites and/or an equivalent data analysis tool
  • Skilled in building predictive models to anticipate potential business benefits and impacts
  • Experienced working with Google Analytics and the suite of Google marketing tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly to stakeholders and users including both technical and business users
  • Ability to take ownership of a project and see it from end to end, balancing interests of groups with conflicting needs and priorities
