BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD - DIGITAL INTELLIGENCE 

 

ABOUT THIS JOB 

Digital Intelligence is an agile startup within Nielsen that provides high end solutions using social media and consumer data. We are a global unit, and our customers are the largest consumer companies in the world.

The centre of excellence is a team of social media experts, insights consultants, data scientists and technologists. 

This role will be part of the Sales and client development team – This will play a key role in announcing and establishing Nielsen’s presence in the Digital Intelligence solutions space across the globe. This team will ensure a steady sales pipeline and help the Digital Intelligence unit achive its revenue targets.

We are looking for passionate leaders, who can work with agility, flexibility and creative ways of thinking, to disrupt a fragmented social media intelligence market.


RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Own a revenue target

  • Prospect, identify and generate new opportunities to build a pipeline of targeted prospects for the Nielsen Digital Intelligence suite of offerings

  • Have a thorough understanding of where and how the need for digital intelligence originates in the client organization, where does it fit in within the market research/ insights industry and lastly, how does the Nielsen offering meet that need

  • Have a strong rigor of collecting market intelligence about prospective clients - services and products used, key stakeholders within, presence of competition and so on. 

  • Manage sales pipeline through sequential states of the sales process: prospect, initial outreach, Service offering pitch and product demo, generating an RFP, building a proposal, consultative selling, price negotiation and close

  • Develop existing clients – Engage and upsell

  • Monitor and report market intelligence and sales progress

  • Refine the pricing process, basis experience/inputs from Clients

  • Have the ability to engage across levels at the Client side - tactical and agile with operation focused executives and consultative partnering with C-suite executives

  • Establish a “trusted advisor” relationship to determine needs, build value, and create engagement with the NDI 

  • Work with local Nielsen commercial teams – Domain training, Joint prospecting, Scoping and selling

  • Track closely publications/ blogs/ articles on the digital Intelligence/ Social listening industry – regular feedback and education of internal teams on latest developments, trends, competitor activities including large wins and new product launches.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 8-10 years of sales / business development experience with selling social media tools/solutions

  • Strong digital intelligence experience, knowledge and relationships with SEA clients specifically in the social listening industry

  • Excellent consultative proposal writing skills 

  • Strong track record of sales performance in Social listening/ digital

  • Familiarity with social media tools such as Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Synthesio, Netbase

  • Have interacted with C-level executives in Client organizations

  • Strong executive presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team player mentality with the ability to work independently 

  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritization, scheduling and time management
