Job Description Summary

The Enterprise Analytics team at CCC is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer that turns data into high value business information. The team provides analytical solutions for all CCC customers including insurance carriers, repair shops, parts manufacturers, and vehicle manufacturers. CCC solutions for these customers involves vehicle damage and repair, medical claims, and telematics data. CCC has a robust data environment to assist in helping users determine the right auto repair costs, medical treatment costs, and other important outcomes such as process time, productivity and consumer satisfaction. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be working with CCC’s customers and internal stakeholders to create best of breed dashboards. Your business, communication, and technical skills will enable you to be successful in devising and recommending designs that will assist the user in making decisions to improve performance for their responsibilities. Your dashboards will follow industry best practices for design and technical needs, with a strong focus on delivering app-like analytical experiences to customers. You will join a passionate, creative group, and have an opportunity to hone and build skills while contributing to internal and client projects across a wide range of verticals. Job Duties

  • Engage internal and external clients to develop dashboard requirements, demonstrate prototypes and solution common requirements across clients
  • Design and create the next generation of data visualization solutions in Tableau
  • Work closely with product managers, business analysts and engineering team to plan and build solutions quickly and iteratively
  • Extract and transform data to build reporting prototypes and test new ideas
  • Work with engineering team to validate solutions
  • Research technical solutions to business problems
  • Provide technical development mentoring to other engineers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or another data-related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience developing user reporting or dashboard solutions with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy
  • Ability to design and develop dynamic dashboards, scorecards and reports
  • Proficiency in data modeling and data warehouse concepts
  • Strong SQL and scripting skills
  • Ability to understand business concepts and convert them to actionable data initiatives
  • Understanding of databases, ETL tools, and best practices in creating and delivering useful information
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to be a strong team member, mentor others, and communicate effectively
  • Capability to prioritize and multi-task, and reasonably estimate work effort for tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prototyping experience to test out new ideas and refine requirements
  • Medical or Automotive insurance industry experience
  • SQL debugging experience
  • ETL and data modeling skills
  • Experience with statistical programming tools (Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, etc.)
  • Experience with data manipulation tools (Tableau Prep, Alteryx, KNIME, etc.)
  • Experience with relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.)
