We are looking for a proven Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Revenue Management Analytics team in support of the Groupon North America business. This individual will be tasked with improving the data and reporting infrastructure that guides decision-making across Merchandising, Category GMs, and the broader Revenue Management team. The Business Intelligence Engineer will partner closely with the Analytics team to create data-driven solutions to business problems. The ability to conceptualize and create user-friendly self-service solutions is critical to be successful in this role. Our business is evolving quickly and we need you to think long term, but deliver incrementally.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Translate raw data into valuable and actionable business insights

  • Develop and maintain new data sources that help drive the business

  • Implement data visualization tools and best practices that enable end users to optimize business levers

  • Work with business partners, engineering, and Analytics team to develop actionable analytics and data visualization solutions

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with substantial data warehousing, analytics, and report development experience

  • 4+ years of experience and knowledge working in data analysis and reporting; work with major BI reporting tools is required - advanced Tableau developer experience is preferred

  • 4+ years of experience of SQL programming is required

  • Excellent understanding of data warehousing and modeling concepts (E.g., Star and snowflake schemas)

  • Familiarity with MPP systems like Teradata is preferred

  • Hive, Hadoop, and Splunk experience is preferred

  • Ability to model data and and develop reporting solution from scratch is preferred

  • Knowledge of eCommerce customer flows and proven experience of developing data visualization solutions to drive the business

  • Outstanding analytical and customer service / teamwork skills preferred
