Category Analyst, Home & Auto
Groupon’s Home & Auto division is seeking a Category Analyst to partner closely with the GM and H&A leaders to develop and lead strategic initiatives, projects, and category analysis to help drive significant growth and innovation.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Product, Revenue Management, Merchandising, and SEO teams to develop, establish, and optimize category performance and user experience for H&A.
Develop and deliver executive level presentations and summaries on H&A performance, strategy, project updates, and H&A trends.
Identify, manage, and lead H&A initiatives and projects both specific to H&A and as they contribute to Groupon’s overall strategies and initiatives.
Analyze marketplace trends to determine new category-related products to launch, as well as identify down-trending or oversaturated offerings on Groupon to be eliminated or optimized.
Recommend and define app/website and overall H&A go to market product enhancements for a better customer experience and improved financial performance.
Understand and communicate daily performance trends for H&A category; be the expert as it relates to the “how” and “why” of category financial performance.
Interpret/analyze sales data independently and in conjunction with RM and Finance to make strategic recommendations to help guide H&A leaders and their Sales teams.
Coordinate annual, quarterly, and seasonal promotional strategies across the Home & Auto Division and partner with Merchandising to implement as well as collaborating with Merchandising to help the H&A Division support Merchandising campaigns and initiatives.
Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years professional experience, preferably in Sales, Account Strategy, management consulting, B2B operations, tech.
Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint are required
Knowledge of Salesforce, data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau), SQL/Teradata warehousing
Experience and comfort working in a cross-functional role and matrixed environment
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required; ability to turn data into a cohesive narrative
Experience in e-commerce
Track record of developing innovative strategies that increase profitability

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to senior management
