Our Business
Commercial Banking (CB) serves more than 30,000 clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion. The Firm's broad platform positions the Commercial Bank to deliver extensive product capabilities - lending, treasury services, investment banking, and asset management - to meet our clients' domestic and international financial needs.
Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides loan servicing functions to all four JPMorgan lines of business. These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndication loan and trade processing, credit administration and collateral perfection and management.
One of the top priorities across the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) at JPMorgan Chase is to help the firm move toward a more integrated data management strategy. Our businesses and corporate groups rely on data to facilitate and execute transactions, support our clients, identify potential risks, and meet regulatory requirements.
Role Description
The CB WLS Operations Data Quality Associate will work in a complex data environment, and develop a solid understanding of WLS businesses, functions, systems, data environments, and processes that are key to understanding and supporting the quality of data under management. The role will engage with various business, technical, and other partners resolve existing data quality issues, and proactively identify and implement enhancements to the existing data quality operating model.
Candidates must possess advanced project management disciplines, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to effectively communicate findings verbally and in written/presentation format. In addition, ideal candidate possesses advanced critical thinking skills, can independently research and resolve issues, and thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment with a team that prides itself on attention to detail and results. Working knowledge of data management practices and governance, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data quality management tools is preferred. Support the development and creation of data quality management reporting.
Key Functions:

  • Practice strong project management disciplines, with the ability to collaborate with multiple points of contact in order to achieve results.
  • Comfortable performing data gathering, manipulation, and analysis, using a variety of tools and data from a variety of different sources, to enable data-driven business decisions.
  • Assure the integrity of data, including data extraction, manipulation, and analysis and reporting.
  • Strong relationship building skills with business functional area counterparts and conduct regular working groups for assigned projects, demonstrating consultative approach and influencing skills.
  • Partner with business owners to implement new data requirements and ensure consistent definitions are used in reporting and analytics.
  • Interface with business management, operations, and technology managers to develop a wide range of metrics focused on measuring efficiency, service, and control.
  • Document, review, analyze and evaluate business processes, systems and user needs. Types of analysis and reporting may include: scorecard development, quality reviews, workflow analysis, and business / client reporting.


Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude, be detail oriented, and have a strong aptitude for analyzing large, complex data sets to deliver high quality reporting to senior managers.
  • A minimum of 5 years in the financial services market, preferably across loan operations and/or loan technology preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a reporting or business analytics role
  • Self-starter with the ability to take ownership and work independently
  • Strong data analysis/quantitative/technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn new metrics, processes, and datasets
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills
  • Executes superbly and meets commitments
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, Power Point, SQL)
  • Understanding/Experience coding in SQL preferred
  • Experience with Collibra, JIRA and/or Data Quality tracking tools desirable
  • Experience using data profiling and reporting tools (Informatica, Business Objects, Tableau or QlikSense is a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree required, with preferred concentration in Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar quantitative disciplines
