Job Description Summary

The Enterprise Analytics team at CCC is seeking a Data Analyst, Information Engineer that turns healthcare claims data into business information that creates high business value from the business.
The Enterprise Analytics team provides analytical solutions for all CCC’s customers from insurance carriers, repair shops, parts manufacturers, and vehicle manufacturers. CCC’s software for these clients captures vehicle property damage and repair; medical claims, and telematics data that the analytics team turns into business relevant information for our internal CCC consultants and external clients.

Analytical solutions provided by the team range include operational analytical solutions for productivity, cost management, process cycle time, organizational productivity and financial performance; and advanced analytics with industry benchmarks to measure performance against competition.

As a Data Analyst, Information Engineer, you will be working with CCC’s customers and internal stakeholders to create data sets for self service to be used by others for reporting and also some reports. Your business, communication, and technical skills will enable you to be successful in understanding and providing data that will assist the user in making decisions to improve performance for their responsibilities. Your will be enabling CCC to have a robust data environment to assist in helping users determine the right auto repair costs, medical treatment costs, and other important outcomes such as process time, productivity and consumer satisfaction.

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with auto damage & healthcare claims data
  • Engage internal and external clients for developing and solutioning analytical requirements
  • Build data sets and reports using Big Data Technology such as Hive and Spark SQL, and using Tableau and MicroStrategy
  • Work closely with a self service product manager to identify data and business rule requirements that require data engineering resources
  • Validate accuracy of reports and data provided
  • Train internal and external users on how to perform self service reporting with the report templates and data sets that you created
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field.
  • Medical claims or Auto insurance industry experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in developing user reporting with BI tools such as Tableau or MicroStrategy
  • Proficiency in Dimensional Data Models and Data Warehouse concepts 
  • Strong SQL and scripting skills
  • Ability to quickly understand business concepts by demonstrating mastery of a business and industry area and the analytics that create business value
  • Understanding of databases, ETL tools, and best practices in creating and delivering useful information
  • Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, cooperative approach
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to be a strong agile team member, mentor others, and communicate effectively
  • Capability to prioritize and multi-task, and reasonably estimate work effort for tasks

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field.

  • Complex SQL building including temp or intermediate tables
  • Report data modeling skills to build data sets
  • Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.)
