Position Overview
As a member of this team you will be conducting research and analyses to verify hypotheses in support of our customer acquisition and retention across the tastytrade ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, data engineers, and partner teams to inform our strategies through finding and articulating insights. Using data, you’ll tell a story through data analysis, product strategy, product execution, and working with decision-making tools. This work includes partnering with leadership to prioritize areas of opportunity to drive company growth and quality along with evaluating product and business metrics. You’ll leverage your statistics skills to measure the impact of our work and changes to that work in order to improve our decision-making. And finally, you’ll rapidly build, test, verify, and deploy machine learning algorithms to help unearth deeper insights into our customer base and business practices.
You will own your project from start to finish with the support of our analytics lead.
Key Missions
- Support the team to follow and analyze key business metrics
- Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed
- Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations
- Produce quantitative and qualitative modeling of business dynamics, user behavior, etc.
Skills and Qualifications
- Pursuing a BS or MS degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- Programming expertise in both SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g. Python)
- Experience with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods
- Basic understanding of Machine Learning techniques
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Curious, self-driven, analytical, and excited to play with data
