Data Analyst
Neighborhoods.com is looking for a detail-oriented Data Analyst. They will help bridge the gap between raw data and business through reporting, analysis, and visual deliverables. Responsibilities include measuring, testing, and analyzing digital data for the company’s two products in order to strengthen user engagement, improve online reach, and support larger business objectives.
Neighborhoods.com is the first online real estate resource to put the neighborhood at the center of the home search. Our platforms, 55places.com and Neighborhoods.com, invite users to imagine their life in a new area by providing a local’s perspective, including detailed descriptions and resident reviews of schools, amenities, and the surrounding community.
What you'll be doing as our Data Analyst:
- Providing ad hoc reporting that collects data from various data sources
- Support the development of analytics tracking strategies to understand and drive KPIs
- Synthesize data into actionable goals
- Build and maintain reports, visual dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products
- Serve the diverse data needs of stakeholders across the company
- Conduct in-depth analysis to uncover opportunities for improving our products
Within three months, you will:
- Gather a deep understanding of the analytics requirements for the product roadmap
- Have taken over all day-to-day responsibilities for A/B testing for all product features
- Be familiar with all analytics currently built in to our products
- Build relationships with key stakeholders
Within a year, you will:
- Develop mastery of our product analytics system
- Audit and upgrade areas of weakness in our analytics system
- Transitioned the company to a third party A/B testing tool like Optimizely
- Have evangelized the product optimization process and educated key stakeholders

Basic requirements to do the job:
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of Google Analytics or BigQuery
- Experience with ETL tools
- Experience with big data solutions such as Hadoop, HBase, or Amazon EWR
- Proficiency with data visualization tools
- SQL and Python
Bonus points if you have:
- Implemented Tagging and Tracking using Google Analytics Suite (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager)
- BI Tooling experience, specifically Superset
- Experience with Amazon ER

Our office is conveniently located in the West Loop, which makes a commute on the Metra or CTA very easy from anywhere in the city or suburbs. However, our team is currently working remotely. Our company intends to return to in-person office work when it is safe to do so and employees feel comfortable going in.
