Job Summary

We’re looking to add a detail-oriented, methodical, and collaborative Data Analyst to our growing team of driven professionals in our Data Strategy Team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in our organization. Your primary goal will be to leverage data analysis and measurement, and communicate your findings to help us make smarter, data-backed business decisions to support our Graph and ensure its accuracy, recency and integrity.

This position may require travel between our Oakbrook Terrace, Chicago Loop, Ft Myers and Costa Rica locations as required.

This person hired to this role may be based out of our Oakbrook Terrace, IL HQ, new Downtown Chicago Office, or Ft. Myers, FL locations Note, relocation is not provided.  Please apply only to your preferred location

Responsibilities and Duties

In addition to knowing how to use specific programming languages and tools, we will need you to discern when measures and patterns in data are meaningful, so that we can draw accurate and actionable conclusions. We’re looking for someone who has the ability to tell a story that gives insight into a problem and help us to create a plan to resolve it. The Data Analyst will develop analysis and reporting and also monitor performance and quality measures to identify improvements to our overall Graph.

As a Data Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Data Strategy Team to determine and address data and reporting needs for the Infutor Graph.
  • Analyze data using statistical methods and measures.
  • Create reports to share your findings and recommendations with the internal team and other stakeholders.
  • Create statistical reports that depict trends and can create actionable intelligence for the Infutor Graph.
  • Perform testing and validation of potential new data sets.
  • Determine the meaning of data and explain how various teams and leaders can leverage it to improve and streamline their processes.

Key Performance Task Details

Measure sources current and future

  • Testing and quality measures for current and potential data sources. 
  • Establish methodology and process for measurements
  • Evaluate Data suppliers (which data sets provide the most valuable, which are duplicative, is there value for the cost
  • Establish consistent evaluation measures and methodology for new potential sources (i.e., what will supply us with the information we need to make a yes or no decision)

Create baselines

  • Define and create ongoing measures for each portion of graph to give us indicators of improvement or decline, and intelligence for identifying data needs
  • Distribution per element per database
  • Positive and negative changes per element, saturation trending
  • Establish goals and priorities based on reporting to identify data needs

Measurement

  • Quantity - Create source reporting source and element level metrics
  • Quality - Corroboration of vendor by field level and by date - effectiveness and quality of vendors we have
  • Intelligence - Create measurements to identify when patterns in data are meaningful, so that we can draw accurate and actionable conclusions
  •  

Business intelligence - Gathering data to enabled informed business decisions

  • Spot trends in data consumption to predict future data strategy. Performance and velocity of use.
  • Predict areas of and trends of data consumption so that we can always be ahead of curve of data assets needed
  • Use analytics to tell a story that gives insight into an opportunity or potential challenges with data so that we can take proactive steps. 

 Qualifications and Skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in computer science information technology, or related field.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, as demonstrated through minimum 3 years work experience as a data analyst or in related field.
  • Proven SQL skills set; experience with business intelligence and analytical tools.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to determine meaningful measurements and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in measuring and handling large data sets and relational databases.
  • Ability to identify useful information in data sets and suggest conclusions that support decision making.
  • Communication, collaboration and project management skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience.
  • Keen attention to detail with the willingness to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset to the solution of business issues; sound business judgment.
  • The ability to meet and exceed deadlines through a demonstrated sense of urgency.
