Data Architect
What you’ll be doing:
You will be expected to lead the migration of an on-premises data warehouse to AWS in any/all of its cloud flavors. Along the way, you will perform technical lead duties, marshalling the work related to our Finance, Marketing, Compliance, and Accounting Roadmaps, and you will serve as a technical mentor for our team of data leads & data analysts, drawing from your experience with mid-sized companies which are looking to adopt best-in-class information systems. Your deep data stack knowledge will extend from our data marts and data warehouse to our use of ETL, to our data visualization platforms. You will oversee the design, development and implementation of our future-state data functionality across multiple business units. You will work with other architects in Software Engineering and Business Intelligence (as well as in Marketing Analytics) to capture and translate requirements, through a variety of techniques, to create business-impacting access to information. Chances are you are innovative and willing to collaborate with your team to build a next-gen data warehouse while supporting our existing applications. You will operate as an owner by completing the full life cycle of a project from understanding the business need for information, through implementation, including ongoing advice to the stakeholder teams.
What you should have:
- 6-8 years of professional experience in the data field
- At least 2 years of previous architecture experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/CS, IT, or related study
- Strong technical knowledge of SQL and data analysis
- Excellent knowledge of data warehousing concepts & AWS
- Proven requirements-gathering and long-term solution development experience
- The ability to work effectively in short-cycle, team oriented environment, managing multiple priorities and tasks
- Strong knowledge of relational database modeling principles and techniques
- Have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interface with Business, Analytics and IT organizations
